Used to prevent the forming of a skin on top of the oil based paints which sometimes occurs whilst it is in the container.
Anti-skinning agents are therefore added as coating additives to induce uniform drying, prevent skin formation and shrinkage. Chemically, these agents are antioxidants which evaporate along with the solvents in the drying process.
